MAIS OUI!

MAIS OUI!

Just as Americans do on the Fourth of July, the French celebrate their country’s national pride on Bastille Day, July 14.

The French holiday commemorates the Storming of the Bastille in Paris in 1789, an event that sparked the French Revolution. And we think it’s a great excuse to dine on some of the most authentic French cuisine Buckhead has to offer.

Bistro Niko

This Buckhead Life Restaurant Group bistro, reminiscent of Paris in the ’20s, sets the stage for its classic French fare such as charcuterie, pâté and terrines. Coq au vin is prepared traditionally, with browned chicken, potatoes and pearl onions in a rich red wine sauce, but chef Gary Donlick puts his own twist on beef bourguignon, replacing the customary braised meat with beef short ribs.

The menu focuses on foods from the Provencal region of France, where owner Arnaud Michel was raised. Dishes such as coquilles St. Jacques, moules marinières (mussels) and boeuf au poivre are specialties.
