Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta CEO Donna W. Hyland announced her retirement after four decades of service. Under the Buckhead resident’s leadership, she helped transform a small pediatric hospital into one of the preeminent pediatric care providers in the country that sees more than 1 million children annually. She was recently inducted as a Georgia Trustee for the Georgia Historical Society.
“My original vision—and heart project—was to ensure every child in the state had access to the best healthcare possible,” she says. “What stands out to me is the merger of Scottish Rite with Egleston to form CHOA, plus the addition of Hughes Spalding Hospital, the Marcus Autism Center, the Center for Advanced Pediatrics and the recent opening of the Arthur M. Blank Hospital, the state’s only Level 1 pediatric trauma center.”
