CELEBRATE THE SPRING SEASON AND MOTHER EARTH
For its fourth annual Earth Day Celebration, the Blue Heron Nature Preserve, a scenic, 30-acre green space off Roswell Road in North Buckhead, has partnered with the Atlanta Audubon Society and The Amphibian Foundation to deliver a full day of activities honoring the planet. This free event on April 21 will include exhibits and demonstrations with live animals found in the preserve and beyond. “Our friends at Beech Hollow Farms will be there with a wide selection of native plants and experts on hand to answer all your questions,” says Executive Director Kevin McCauley. In addition, mixed-media contemporary artist Roxane Hollosi will discuss her work, which will be featured in the preserve’s on-site gallery as part of its quarterly art show. Other activities include an original theater production performed in the woods by the Green Theater Group and the kickoff of the “Art of Nature” exhibition showcasing local artists who create outdoor art pieces that speak to the beauty of nature. “There’s fun for all ages,” says McCauley.
