The St. Regis Atlanta upholds the hotel brand’s historic legacy!

The St. Regis’ pioneering luxury has left a mark on the hotel industry. Founded by John Jacob Astor IV in 1904, its iconic history includes being one of the first brands to offer in-room telephones. It’s known for aristocratically inspired butler service, as well as being the birthplace of the Bloody Mary cocktail at the King Cole Bar in New York. Today, each St. Regis around the world has its own local version of the drink.

The St. Regis Atlanta is the kind of place that makes you feel important the moment you step on property. In my day-to-day life, I’m often taking care of others, but I experienced complete role-reversal during a recent staycation. From the personalized, attentive service and plush surroundings to the signature programs and stellar food, it was easy to see how the hotel has earned its Forbes Travel Guide Five- Star ratings, something it holds for both the hotel and its restaurant, Atlas. The Buckhead location is the only property in Georgia and one of 14 worldwide to be honored with the guide’s Hotel + Restaurant Double Five-Star distinction.
I checked into my superior king accommodations, one of 151 guestrooms and suites, and was soothed by the neutral palette and classy furnishings. My bathroom at home leaves something to be desired in terms of space, so the room’s marble washrooms with double vanities, a walk-in shower and deep soaking tub took me straight into pampering mode. I drew a bath and slid open the adjacent mirrored French doors to take in the Buckhead view through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the main bedroom while unwinding from my day. Next, I prepared to meet my husband for a much-anticipated dinner at Atlas where the staff was about to exceed our expectations. We were blown away by the culinary prowess of Chef Freddy Money and got the chance to communicate our gratitude when we were invited into the kitchen to meet some of the team post-meal.

While I could only delight in the St. Regis bubble for one night, I made sure to fit in breakfast at Astor Court the next morning and a workout in the state-of-the art fitness center. From the treadmill, I took in a view of the 40,000-square-foot pool piazza that recently underwent a fashionable revamp in a collaboration with Etro. The luxury Italian lifestyle house curated a fabric exclusively for The St. Regis Atlanta with a paisley motif of pink, blue and green on a canary yellow background that adorns host uniforms, umbrellas, awnings and accents pillow. The pool deck also features a cascading waterfall that adds to the Italian-villa vibe. I watched the staff move efficiently between lounge chairs to provide guests with all their needs. I didn’t have the chance to enjoy the pool service or the Forbes four-star spa. However, just as I finished my run, a gym attendant was at the ready with a cool bottle of water. Small touches like this perfectly embody The St. Regis way that continues to endure more than a century after its founding.
