5 KID-FRIENDLY ICE CREAM PARLORS IN BUCKHEAD
W hat better way to bring the hot Atlanta heat down a few notches than with a cool ice cream cone? Buckhead has both traditional ice cream parlors, as well as some upscale treat shops with unique kid-friendly ice cream desserts. Try one, or better yet, try them all this summer!
The problem with pie a la mode is that you end up finishing either the pie or the ice cream first. Not so with a Cloud 9 pie a la mode treat from the Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop. First, pick one of nine mini-pie flavors that are made from scratch daily. The server flips it upside down into a big scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream and then hand mixes it until the concoction comes together with a little pie and a little ice cream in every bite.
Kid Favorite: Nanny Pecan Pie Cloud 9, made with love and the family recipe from Nanny Edith, the grandmother of one of the owners.

Celebrate summer with an ice cream cone blooming with a flower made from gelato petals. Choose one flavor, or do what the kids do and mix and match all your favorites for a unique combination of petals. Parents can feel good about this treat because Amorino gelato is made from all natural ingredients.
Kid Favorite: A gelato bambino, a smaller flower cone for smaller customers.

Sprinkles Cupcakes
Sprinkles is best known for its bright pink cupcake automatic teller machine, but did you know the store has ice cream, too? It’s made fresh daily with organic milk. For little ones, there are miniscoops. Can’t decide between a cupcake and an ice cream? Get both. The mini-cupcake sundae is a scoop of ice cream between a cupcake top and bottom.
Kid Favorite: A scoop with rainbow sprinkles and gummy bear toppings.

Baskin-Robbins
For a Buckhead ice cream staple, the Baskin-Robbins in the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center is a tried and true sweet friend. Whether celebrating the beginning, end or middle of the school year; a warm summer day; or topping off a meal at nearby Jaliscos, Baskin-Robbins ice cream is always welcome.
Kid Favorite: A cotton candy ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles— because to kids there is no such thing as too much sugar.

Philadelphia-based Sweet Charlie’s rolls into Buckhead this month with its first franchise location. In addition to great ice cream, kids will love the show. After mixing in toppings, the ice cream chef spreads the sweet, creamy concoction out on a chilled stainless steel plate and then uses a spatula to curl the ice cream into rolls.
Kid Favorite: A Tall Charlie, an ice cream roll of your choosing on a warm, long, glazed donut that is baked fresh daily.
