The U.S. athleisure market is projected to be a $232 billion business by 2033, according to a market report by Grand View Research. Buckhead resident Samantha Meyer found, however, that finding age-appropriate, classic styles for girls was a mammoth feat. So in 2025, she created a line of girls’ and tweens’ athletic wear called Peachie Prep.

Before Peachie Prep, Meyer co-founded the now-closed local consignment sale Beaus & Betties. “Running the sale made me realize there was a big hole in the market,” she says. Her tween daughter wanted to wear athletic-style clothing, but everything Meyer could find was not age-appropriate and was a fad print or color. Now, Peachie Prep covers girls in sizes 2 to 16 in timeless prints and silhouettes. “If you bought something [for one child] two years ago and wanted to pass it down to a daughter now, it’s still going to be a relevant style because we work so hard to source our prints,” she says.

Designed for Southern Life

Peachie Prep’s design philosophy is rooted in pastels, bows and florals. “I wanted to keep it fun for the girls but also create something moms would be happy about buying,” she says.

The collection includes dresses, skirts, shorts, jackets and tops. Most pieces are made from a washable and durable signature yoga material, and a new knit cotton blend introduced this year. Meyer also put a lot of thought into how a young girl’s day might go, from school to the playground to a tennis lesson. “Most of our items have a built-in skirt because we want them to be comfortable and able to move,” she says.

Items aimed at younger girls, primarily 2 to 7, nod to heritage styles, such as Peter Pan collars, pleated skirts and dropped waists. The tween styles, for sizes 8 to 16 and approximately ages 8 to 13, have elements Meyer knows they want, such as butterfly shorts and flyaway shirts.

In addition to the core collection, Meyer added a collegiate collection this past football season. “It made perfect sense for us to venture into this collection, and it was really fun to do,” she says. She is already working on adding more school colors for next season.

A Banner First Year

Meyer started Peachie Prep to solve a parenting pain point, but she didn’t expect it to take off as it has. She intended for it to only be direct to- consumer online but had so many wholesale inquiries that she debuted Peachie Prep at the Atlanta Apparel Mart in February 2026.

The brand is now in 30 boutiques across the country, including Sprong on Roswell Road. “[Sprong owner] Sonia was one of the first boutiques to request to carry us and has been such a cheerleader for our wholesale business,” Meyer says.

Dressing tweens

“Tweens are picky, and it’s an awkward time to dress them when they are not little and not yet a teenager,” she says. Her advice is to find items that make both the parent and the child feel comfortable. That’s easier to achieve if you can both agree on a brand to purchase from, and Meyer hopes it’s Peachie Prep. “We created Peachie Prep to keep it age-appropriate but to also allow my daughter to feel comfortable in what she was wearing,” she says.
