Celebrating Earth Day with your children can be engaging and educational thanks to the Buckhead Library’s Earth Day Drop-In Craft. Children can learn about the importance of Mother Earth while making their own environmentally inspired creations including a sea turtle hand puppet made from paper plates and crepe paper, and journals made from recycled paper and pictures.  Participants are welcome any time.  The special Earth Day programming is free, is ideal for children ages 4-12, and will be offered from 12 p.m.-4.p.m.

22 year-old Riley Cerone and more than 100 Atlantans will rappel down the side of the Buckhead Tower (20 stories high!) to raise money for Special Olympics Georgia.  Cerone is going Over the Edge to raise awareness that by supporting Special Olympics, a person can change the life of someone who maynot have the confidence and determination that may come so easily to many.  For more information, visit www.specialolympicsga.org/2014OTE.

Presented by NCR, join runners in our community for the 20th Annual Lauren’s Run and the Cure Childhood Cancer Annual Picnic on Sunday, April 27, 2014. Events include a 10K, 5K, 2K Fun Run, and Tot Trot at Concource Office Park. After the run, the CURE Annual Picnic will feature a full day of family fun including flag football with NFL players, Disney princesses, climbing wall, inflatables, games, prizes, music, and of course – lunch.
