The third annual ladies’ luncheon and social bridge event, Playing Tricks on Parkinson’s, was once again held at Buckhead’s Swan Coach House. The event, which benefits the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research, has raised more than $15,000 to date, and this year contributions exceeded $5,000. All of the proceeds go directly to the Foundation, thanks to the generous support of local executive search firm, Boaz Partners, that underwrote the event for the second year in a row. There were eight tables of bridge play and 35 guests who enjoyed traditional Coach House fare, including the signature chicken salad served in timbales with creamy frozen fruit salad. A raffle and door prize giveaways were interspersed among the games, featuring items from A & B Home, Dooney & Bourke, Privilege International Inc., Pure Heart Essentials and Two’s Company, including a pebbled leather handbag, table top items from Plat du Jour, Illume candles and hand-crafted soaps. And no one went home empty handed. All attendees received a gift certificate for one free service at Buckhead salon Jamison Shaw Hairdressers.
