\"\"<\/a>I only know how to cook two things: lasagna and cheesecake. When I do go to the trouble to make them, they\u2019re darn good, but the rest of my efforts in the kitchen could best be described as haphazard.<\/p>\n

After sharing a meal I\u2019ve made, I\u2019ve had people politely say things such as \u201cNice try\u201d and \u201cThat was interesting.\u201d It doesn\u2019t hurt my feelings necessarily (we each have our own unique skills), but it does make me envious of people like the four chefs we\u2019re featuring in this issue\u2019s cover story, who just seem to have an innate ability to throw together a mishmash of ingredients into a mouthwatering meal. Seasonal get togethers also often call for Champagne (who doesn\u2019t enjoy popping open a bottle at the stroke of midnight on New Year\u2019s Eve?), and so you\u2019ll appear super in-the-know, we\u2019ve shared a primer on everything from how to properly open a bottle of bubbly to how to serve it. We also put together a fashion spread on the season\u2019s hottest party looks, so you\u2019ll be the picture of perfection at every occasion, whether it\u2019s your company\u2019s yearly Christmas bash or your Aunt Edna\u2019s Secret Santa swap.<\/p>\n
